The "Anyone winter camping?"<-- Winter camping, Winter camping ideas, photos, plans... Please read 1st post before posting.

I mostly camp only in winter, less creepy crawly nasties around in winter. I only use one pure wool blanket, but carry a spare woolen shirt, a second woolen waistcoat, & a Monmouth cap. I also wear or carry a half-blanket. Regards, Keith.

    What was your first Muzzleloader?

My first black powder gun was a hand cannon made from a scrap of wood & a brass curtain rail. Not sure how old I was, probably 8 or 9 years of age. Keith.

powder in the pan ignites powder in chamber

You are correct, keeping the vent clear & not using too much priming is the correct method. The flash from the priming goes into the vent & ignites the main charge. Radiant heat has nothing to do with it. Keith.

    Anyone winter camping?

Anthropogenic global warming & climate change is about a changing climate. Not everywhere gets hot, some areas get more extreme cold.

Fair enough Sean, good comment. Keith.

    Anyone winter camping?

One thing can lead to another Sean, that is natural & can't be helped. If one can not answer a question or comment because it might mean going off topic, then I think that would be very sad & not sensible at all. A topic if interesting will not get derailed, though it may attract more comments &...
