    Bare balls with jug choke?

Shot my 58 cal smoothie with jug choke last week. Seemed to preform fine with bare ball. I used a wool wad over powder ball and topped with a wool wad.

Who can jug choke a smoothbore barrel?

I had a 12 ga done by Caywood and my 24ga done by Leland Davis. I’m pleased with each. Similar price range.

    .58 smooth (24 ga) loads

I shot my newly finished Kibler Colonial 58 today. I had a gunsmith in Kansas jug choke the barrel for me. I shot several round ball loads to get familiar with this new gun. I tried a few trial loads of shot also. Not a pattern session but just a lets see affair. All taken at 25 yards. All with...

Looking to purchase a small quantity of the 1/2 fiber cushion wads for my 24ga. 40 or 50 would be great.

    Pedersoli 10ga. barrel gap.

I was shocked that the owner was able to slide it back tight to the lock or tang face. I know this is not correct. I've never seen anything like it. I should have taken a picture. You could push the barrels forward and back approx. 1/16th inch. It was excessive. I did pass but took the guys...

    Pedersoli 10ga. barrel gap.

I was at a local swap meet today and came across a Pedersoli 10ga. This particular piece has removable chokes. While I was looking it over, I noticed about a 1/16" gap at the breech end of the barrels. The barrels were not sitting tight with the tang. I asked the gentleman about it and he showed...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I ordered shooting supplies in the form of 24 ga over shot cards and 58 cal wool wads from track of the wolf. They were out of stock on the 1/2 fiber wads (anybody have extras?). Oh yeah I also finished out my 58 cal SB Colonial.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I worked in my second coat of Permalyn sealer on my Kibler Colonial. Pondering what I might use as a finish top coat if anything. I have a little bit of Lin-speed left. Any thoughts on using that over the Permalyn?

Last summer I had the same issue.I found a seller on e bay that had the triggers and hammers. Cast steal that needed some clean up work but matched the original. Might search there?

Wondering and hoping that there will be enough barrel thickness to allow those of us who may be interested in a jug choke? I’m a big 16 ga fan so that’s what I’m saving my pennies for!

    Let’s see some patterns

Here’s a recipe that I’ve used with success. 12 ga. Underhammer with jug choke (Caywood). 70 grn Swiss FFG, 1 12ga wool wad followed by 50 grn of corn meal, 1 1/4 oz copper plate #6 finished with an over shot card. Target was shot by a buddy that just had to try it. 18 yards and 25 yards.

How about offering a jug choke as an option so we don't have to ship our new barrels out for additional work? Since we're all still in the dream phase.
