    Crockett .32 ramrod replacement

If I go brass, did you use 1/4 or 5/16? And how do you attach fittings to the rod? Never made a ramrod before. My stock rod measures .275, and thimbles are about .332

Anyone ditch the aluminum ramrod that comes with the crocket for something that looks more correct?

    .32 maxi ball

I purchased some from TOTW. Seem to shoot fine, but a lot more expensive than balls.

    Hawken vs Long Rifle

I was thinking .50 or .54. Paper target match at local club shooting 25,50, and 100 yards. Hunting would be for deer. When I said hawken, I meant something like the lyman gpr, long rifle something like a pedersoli kentucky or cabelas blue ridge.

Which style do you think performs better at target and hunting? Which do you find more pleasant to shoot. Just looking for opinions. Might get a new gun for Christmas!

GPR in .54 vs T/C Hawken with GM barrel

So at this point I own a T/C Renegade in .54. I have enjoyed shooting it a lot, but would like something with a longer and slower twist barrel. I read great reviews on the GPR, but was wondering if a T/C Hawken with a .54 Green Mnt. barrel with a 1/66 twist would perform as well or better. I...

I own 2 of these percussion rifles. Is it possible to convert one to a flintlock? If so, where should I look for parts and instructions. Thanks

    Seating the ball question

Today was my first time out with my 58 remi .44 Pietta. I found that using approx 25gr of FFFg with wonder wad and .454 ball, the ball was seated quite abit below the cylinder opening. I was concerned about leaving air space so I pushed them down as far as the lever would go. Is this over...

Load for 58 Rem .44 Pietta?

Went to the range today and had a lot of fun. I used a 38spl case which appeared to measure about 25gr FFFg + wonder wad and .454 ball. This seated well below the cylinder rim. My groups were alittle large, 2 in at 5 yds. So maybe I should try a larger powder charge and or some filler and see...
