I have one from Handgonnes.com (Greywolf) Great to deal with. It was one of his last steel hand gonnes. Now I think he just does bronze work. I also have one from Handgonne.com. Again, great to work with. Mine is a .62 Zepher. It was the one he had pictured on his site. Not sure if its...

    Gonne demo

Did a gonne demo at a local campground this past weekend. Took the Mary Rose Hail Gonne as well as the Claypipe .62 HandGonne. Had a great time. Explained to folks the start of firearms then shot the gonnes at noon each day. Folks gave good feedback.

    What size diamond shelter?

I dont have reinforcement on mine. Use lead balls or marbles tied in the fabric to use to tie. This spreads out the stress and you dont need the extra layers.

    Cannon sight question

Bakers came a lot later. We dont have that many round here, uaually 2-4 at a 550 cam event. Most venders use wall tents or marquis. Most participants use wedge or diamond fly of some kind.

    Paper Patched Balls

I use paper patches in my .62 fusil. I use .595 balls to allow for ease of loading. Dont think they used to go as tight as we do now. I can get around 10 shots be for a swab is needed. Have been pleased.

    Hand Gonne evaluation

:hatsoff: Hatsoff to Claypipe. Ran the range for the PD today. As usual, I take out blackpowder every time. This time was the new Zypher from Claypipe. Used good old rustolium flat black for a protecting finish. Easy clean up and touch up if needed. No burning or scalding of the paint...

    New Hand Gonne

I use 3f for everything. For the gonne, I make quills. I cut plastic stir straws to about .75 inch. Then I take plastic tape or correction tape and stick it to some powder. Put the tape into the stir straw and leave a little hanging out. This quill will have an immediate ignition.

    New gonne

 Take a look at Claypipes web site. The .62 calibre gonne pictured under "Medevial Gonne Works" is mine. The workmanship is second to none. Very impressed with it. I used black paint on the gonne for ease of care. Nice size and balance. Will be taking the gonne out on Wednesday...

    .600 or .595 ball?

I have increased accuracy with smaller ball and thicker patch. Fill use lots of lube. When others are having problems loading due to fowling, I keep on shooting as the fowling is softer.
