Anyone doubting the lethality of a .45 Round ball should just look at the blood trail pics .

Hunt scheduled at Spartan Hunting Preserve

Preserve hunts are what you make of them. I hunted one preserve, twice, having a great experience both times. I treated it as a getaway or mini vacation , The hunt wasn’t overly easy or hard. It didn’t feel too “canned” per say. My advice is to Try to make it as challenging as possible. I...

Buy what you want and like and be at peace. Don’t worry about pleasing others, everyone’s taste is personal. So what if your gun is not perfect or historically accurate? It’s not like you are going to pass it off as such. I can only speak to my personal experience with TVM. I have a TVM Iron...

Hunt scheduled at Spartan Hunting Preserve

The .45 should be ok for hogs up to 200lbs within 50 yards, and for all Fallow. If you decided you want a big hog you can take out your .75. Enjoy yourself and have a great time!

    2f vs 3f in .50 cal

I have only used 2F in my .50’s, bc that’s what I was told to use 20 years ago. It always worked so I never decided to use 3G. Old habits die hard!

Don’t sleep on the .50 PRB, Story and pic.

Skinner barrel mounted peep. I can’t say enough how much this changed my ability to hit.

do any of you hunt with your black powder cap-and-ball revolvers?

I love the idea of .44 cap and ball for backup while woods walking or hunting. It’s currently impossible to find one in stock!

Don’t sleep on the .50 PRB, Story and pic.

I was not able to go down south for a “real” hog hunt do to lack of time off work. I used Tioga Boar Hunting in North central Pennsylvania. It’s usually not my thing to hunt preserves, but for hogs, it fit the bill for being close to home and fun. I can say that the food, lodging, and...
