I would take the rifle at $250.00 plus freight if it is still available.

    Cleaning for Long Distance Accuracy

I'm with you on the plastic wad issue. Plastic, which is made from petroleum, Has issues when combined with blackpowder shooting.

    SOLD Underhammer

Well, for whatever it's worth, either an under hammer isn't a muzzleloader, or it does have a reciever(also called an action in ye olde days)

    Old Family Heirloom

-Before you accept that conclusion, check out "The Cap Lock Rifle" by Ned Roberts. Somewhere around here I have copy of Major Ned Roberts "The Caplock Rifle" in which he gives numerous match scores for 40 rod matches. Almost all with peep type sights. Those scores told me I didn't want to be...

    Old Family Heirloom

I used to shoot in 40 rod matches (back in the 1950's). 40 rods is 220 yards

    American Mountain Men

I thought all C-PAP machines had a 12 volt DC recepticle as well as 110 AC. I have two Resmed's by the way. Converting via an inverter is far less efficient then the machine being wired for both AC and DC.

    Hawken peep sight help

That used to be called a Buckhorn sight. Later called a full-buckhorn sight. Marble's still make them.

Working up a 38 cal (rifle) load

I'm sure you are right. Harry Pope taper bored all of his muzzleloading barrels, and he didn't know that they couldn't shoot.

    .177 BB's

The trapdoor Springfield arsenal loads, 45-70-500, in Army ballistic tests were conducted to assure each lot was at or below 25,000 lbs.

    .32 PRB for Mountain Lion

When I hunted "Lion" in California, I used 4 dogs and a 38-40 Winchester Model 1873. This was 60 years or more ago. I lung shot them. For whatever that's worth.

What period would the 'trade knives' fit in to?

I didn't know that Spanish Toledo steel was inferior to what the English were making 1770 - 1815.

    Dawn Dishsoap

I've used it, and it works fine.

I think he's reffering to windshield washer anti-freeze.

how to make beech wood from cva/s and other hardwood shine like you have n

Yeah, BHB, lighten up. Beech is a good, serviceable hard wood. is it pretty? Not as pretty as some others, I mean come on, there are folks out there raving over plastic stocks, that cheek up about as pleasantly as a dead carp, and smell worse.

    Minnie ball accuracy?

Well.......maybe. There seems to be considerable evidence that having the Mine' no more than 0.01 under size really makes an improvement.

how to make beech wood from cva/s and other hardwood shine like you have n

Mine isn't anywhere near that pretty, but mine shoots better than I do.

    Minnie ball accuracy?

It's really pretty easy to verify, isn't it? We know the weight of the ordnance Mine', and we know the desired muzzle velocity. Desired Ordinance MV is 970-1030 fps. I'd start at 50 grs. fffg or 55 grs.ffg and work my way up until I was in the ordinance preffered window, then trim for accuracy.

    Minnie ball accuracy?

He's talking about 55 grs. of 777, not black gunpowder. From what I know, the Armory load was 60 grains of ff grain gunpowder. This is a .58 caliber bullet, that's very close to a 9/16ths slug traveling in the neighborehood of 1000 fps. If that load would shoot through a horse, it'll do the...
