    Is this possibly a joke?

Like this? The top and bottom insert on the butt was an after thought. It was recommended by a gentleman at a local shoot when I was a member of the Brushy Creek Rangers in Northern CA.

    Is this possibly a joke?

Guess I shouldnt laugh at the guy too much. Heres my first build. I started it in 1991 from a pre-carved stock and a handful of parts I bought from Rays Beaver Bag in Las Vegas NV and finished it in 1993. 50 cal with a 36" barrel that 1" across the flats Like i said above, it...

    Small caliber flintlock advice?

By all means let me re-phrase then. Where it is LEGAL, the 40 should be up to the task for taking deer with proper shot placement Bob:)

    Small caliber flintlock advice?

i'm still trying to find some reasoning for not using a 40 or a 45 for deer. As a kid in OK, i used a 45 for deer hunting and never had bad results. I was contemplating on building a Kentucky half-stock in 40 for all around use when I run traps.40 cal loaded right should take deer with proper...

    Pre-made cannon barrels?

LOL. I could see an orange going down range at Warp 6  I did read the responses; just trying to get more info. I'm wanting a full scale cannon one day. Something that can shoot Lead projectiles. I think a 3" bore loaded with grapeshot would equal the playing field against an...

    Pre-made cannon barrels?

I just went to Kansas Cannon works to look around. It seems all of their cannons are(Exact words on the site) "intended for signal use only; not intended to fire projectiles" Since they do state this, would adding the pressure of firing a heavy projectile actually be safe? Just curious Bob :)

Now why didn't I think of that?!?!?!

Well, I'm not looking on using Damascus barrels, and I already have the old shotgun (I think I paid $60 for it), so I don't think I'll have $2500 in this one

Now why didn't I think of that?!?!?!

Howdy folks, As you know from recent posts I've been looking for a double barreled flintlock shotgun. Sources are almost nil, and when you do find one, either just the barrels are gonna cost you a grand or the entire shotgun will run you $2500 plus. I'm looking to make a saddle cannon that...

    Double-Barreled Fiintlock smoothie?

Just took a look over at General Mzzleloading about the double from MVTC. Not really looking at an Indian made gun. Someone had indicated that another member on here had converted a percussion double to flint, but I just did a search over the entire forum and came up with nil. This is...

New to Muzzleloaders, taing advice and tips

The 54 GPR is a great rifle as everyone has said. Just for the record, though, I have had a fullstock 50 cal I made in 1991, and i've taken elk in Nevada and Idaho at ranges up to 80 yards with no problem FWIW Bob :)
