    proper care for gun

"Different strokes for different folks and all that, I remove both the lock and barrel after shooting. Passing on the technique I learned from other forum members, using the correct size straight pin punch, pins usually just "push" right out...I push them through far enough to pull them out from...

i always remove the lock, and run warm water over it, then put it aside and flush&swab my bbl. then oil everything. if the lock shows still wet, i may hold it over a heat source to dry it completely, then oil. good luck,

    Fouling shot

Necchi, not challenging you at all my friend, just curious is all. Every man has his way and if it works then who's to say anything. I just know ive walked all day with a charge in my rifle and left it in overnight. With a fouled bore i would have to pull that load and clean. That's the way...

    Fouling shot

Im curious, why a fouling shot? i can understand if it's 'part of your system' at the range, but before a day hunting? What about its hygroscopic properties?

Historically correct Rev War era rifle?

I highly recommend Mike Brooks Klette rifle kit. I had Mike build mine. Balance and fit is just awesome. It's the first rifle i pick up off the rack, and the only one i really shoot now.

    Router bit

It can definitely be done, but like Jim alluded to, and bubba stated, you must climb to your cut, and GO SLOW! Good luck,

    Cotton Balls?

Josh, Notwithstanding the ML mantra, 'whatever works!', if i started shooting cotton balls then i would most probably light my woods on fire. i get similar results by simply using a good liquid lube (409,Fantastic,etal.)on my patch.

    Barkin' Squirrel

true, i just shoot their heads off. But, if you wanna bark them, do it with a full charge. No need to be easy about it. Good Luck,

    Multiple Projectiles?

i got off the OP in my last post,,sorry. But i wanted to say that when out trekking i am always experimenting with my gun, and regularly shoot double-ball and have found that at 60 yards and under, roughly, those two balls hit consistently within 2-3 inches of each other. With a standard...

    Multiple Projectiles?

Actually, the captains had 33 mouths to feed. And their rifles might have been .49 ???, if that matters. As a side note, it was mentioned, by lewis, i believe, that to feed the corps for a 24-hour period took - one Buffalo; or 7 deer; or ?3 elk and ?2 deer. Probly a good thing Droulliard was...

    brandywine event CL

Actually, if you travel from the museum towards the Chadds Ford Inn (Tavern?) and go a bit further, then on your left was the actual Battle of the Brandywine, if memory serves. I remember that land was private and fenced, which may be why it was held at the museum.... neat area! full of history..
