    Pedersoli/cabelas blue ridge

I can not help any concerning the .50cal, but I do have a Blue Ridge in .32cal (flint). I've had it for quite a few years and it has not ever let me down. Very accurate and just a pleasure to shoot. As far as the wood, I've seen prettier wood on a peach basket, but I wouldn't trade it for...

Smashin' Punkins Ends Oct. 31st, 2012

I really did want to get involved in this pumpkin shoot and I even tried but as I was sighting down the barrel, aiming at that smiling face carved into it, it seemed to be saying "WHY ME--WHY ME". That just broke my heart.  Vern

    32 or 36cal suggestions

To start off with, I have both .32cal and .36cal's. Some of what has been already said is true. One does get more "range" out of the .36cal, however with my old eyes, the .32cal is more than enough for the range that I can hit a squirrels head. I also admit that the wind does have more effect on...

    Pedersoli Flintlock

JumpShot, I agree. I've had my BlueRidge for quite a few years and have had no problems with it. I know of one heck if a lot of squirrels that agree. Vern

Best sights for low light situations

I've been known to put a dab of pearl white finger nail polish on my front sight. Works great and is easy to scrape off when not needed but is strong enough to stay put while hunting. Vern

    Squirrel rifle

I have carried a .32 Blue Ridge (flint) for a long time. A few years ago I got a .36 E/L from TVM and have put a lot of lead through it also. I really can not say that either one of them is any harder to clean than my .50cal. Both are a joy to carry and shoot and have murdered a lot of...

    Squirrels with a .50?

I don't know what state you hunt (live) in, but some states have a maximum caliber that can be used for small game. I live in Pa and the maximum for small game is .40cal. Check your regs to be on the safe side. Vern

    Southern Deer-The "Myth"

Not only that but I have a hunting friend that has had bucks that have actually grown more POINTS on their racks after they were shot. One went from a spike to a 4 pointer and another went from a 6 pointer to a 10 pointer. A few more years and they will be world record class. :rotf: :rotf...

    Hunting from Tree Stands

When I was bout 17 years old I found an old tree stand in an apple tree on a piece of private land that I had permission to hunt on. Climbed up and promptly fell asleep (it was a warm day). Then I promptly fell out of it. I now let the birds sit on the branches. The Old Woman however does say...

    fav cal

My favorite is the .32cal because that's what I use to scare (and occasionally kill) squirrels with. For I am a squirrel hunter. Next I use a .36cal for the same reasons (and results). Vern

How long have you been ......

I was about 13 or 14 the first time I shot a black powder (flint) rifle. It was a unknown make that we had down on the farm. My uncle Bill taught me how to load and fire it. I don't know exactly what happened, but something went "snap" in my mind. I've been shooting them every since and I'm 64...
