WANTED Pedersoli 12 ga sxs tumbler

I've just acquired an early lightweight Pedersoli 12 gauge double whose left lock tumber's half cock notch is broken off--see pic. If you look closely you can compare the two locks and see the notch on the lower right hand lock, where the upper (left) lock's notch is entirely gone with no...

Take a look at chatterless countersinks. I had the same problem until I started using them.

    Lock stuck in stock

My vision isn't what it used to be, but is the cavity up front where the lock inletting got into the ramrod channel? The blue may be Prussian Blue residue used as a transfer agent in inletting. Good luck!

    Jug Choke

Lowell Tennyson in Blue Grass, IA has been doing it for a lot longer than anyone I know. He's done several for me. The last phone # I have for him is 563 381 3711.

    JB Weld temporary sight attachment

Regular epoxy works too. Comes apart with a little heat and cleans up with a little filing and sanding.

    In letting black substitute

To an extent there is a relationship between "messy" and transferability--has to be a little messy to transfer well. I like prussian blue, available at auto parts stores. Comes in a tube and works well, but it will get on things. Cleans up easily enough tho. Good luck with your build.

    jug choking a barrel

Lowell Tennyson in Blue Grass, IA has been jug choking for years. I have a number of barrels he has choked that all perform well. Last one was 2-3 years ago; as I recall cost was $60 plus shipping.

    Front sight moving

You might also consider removing the sight and flowing some solder onto its underside. Remove excess until you have a tight fit. Good luck with your project.

Getting inlets a little less tight

You might also consider a little light filing on the tang itself--just a few strokes at a time....

20G SxS, first time with BP question

I think you're in the ball park with your estimation. You'll have some fouling, but if the bores are in good shape it won't block your wadding unless you do a lot of shooting. If you haven't already, you might try eliminating or reducing the size of the fiber wad. Using 2 hard OP wads or...

    jug choking

    V. M. Starr, the noted old time authority on jug choking from South Dakota, wanted at least .030" of barrel wall thickness after jug choking, more if at all possible.
