    Ordered a '51 from Dixie...

I ordered a full sized Pietta 1851 in .36 caliber this weekend. Talked to Dixie today and it'll be two weeks till the order is processed. I have the sheriffs model in brass frame and same caliber. I hope this gun is as nice as the guns I've received recently as Pietta has given a pretty good...

TRADE CVA Mountaineer .50 caliber muzzle loader

I have this Hawken style rifle that I would like to trade for a full size 1851 Navy or full size 1860 Army. The bore is like new and I don't think it's ever been shot. Thanks for looking!

    1851 and 1860 sheriff's...

Recently bought these two Pietta from Midway. I will say that Pietta is doing some nice work on their guns. These two pistols show a very nice degree of fit and finish, lock up and index is excellent. I'm going to do the usual to make them reliable but feel like they may just be good to go as...

    CVA Mountaineer sidelock

I recently acquired a CVA "Mountaineer" sidelock in a trade. It is a Hawken style rifle, 26" Barrell, 1/48 twist 50 caliber with wood stock. Nice finish with brass trigger guard, single trigger, brass buttplate and made in Spain. Does anyone have any info on about when it was made and if it was...

    Traditions lightening fire sidelock

I recently acquired a Traditions Lightening Fire side lock. It has a single trigger, one in forty eight twist and a nicely done birch stock with a Schnabel fore end. It came with a composite ramrod and appears to not have been fire. I also have a Trapper percussion in fifty caliber and a T/C...

Traditions 1851 all steel .44 Colt revolver review

I received my 1851 Colt in all steel from Sportsmans Warehouse last night and have just finished unboxing and cleaning it to get the surface oil off. First impressions: 1.) It's very nicely fitted and blued and the brass is very well done. It kinda sparkles a bit. 2.) The bolt sticks in 2 of...

    Armi San Marco 1860...

I had one a couple of years ago and when I bought the gun I was able to compare it to an original that was in the possesion of a collector/store owner. Of course, his origial Colt showed its age but it was almost identical to the Army San Marco. It was a nice tight pistol and was very attractive.
