    Smoothbore Use

I use trade gun for shot mostly. I picked it up mainly for grouse. Maybe not the best use of it (shoots prb very well); but since most of my hunting is for birds, that is what it will get used for most.

    tomahawks vs hatchets?

New to this reenactment stuff, but this subject is something I thought on as a younger man. I have always been fascinated with swords and fighting knives, but I have much more experience with an axe or hatchet. If I needed an edged weapon, I would probably grab a smaller "camp" axe that I have...

Wanting to get into Flintlocks !!!

I have shot rifles for years. I get decent groups and have taken home a few prizes. That said, I am very new to flintlocks. I have found though that Follow-Through counts well for both styles of rifle, but is even more important in a flintlock. One other trick to try in addition to "pan only"...

    Traditional M/L Hunting ?

I can’t really say that I hunt with traditional tools. I have not used my flintlock for hunting much yet. I do normally use a single shot firearm for much of my hunting though. Just carries well and normally brings home the game that I see and decide to shoot. For the rest, I use a good set of...

I have a new pan brush and pick and a question

I am fairly new to this and I also have one of those sets. I find that it stays in my bag, more and more. The pick I use most is fasioned from a wire, and I keep a couple in the band of my hat until I need them to load. After loading, it goes back into my hatband. Just seems easier than a bunch...

    Smoothbore barrel for GPR?

Thanks. I just picked up a 1/60 twist barrel for it. After the "mad money" builds back up, I will get ahold of track of the Wolf and ask them about a smoothbore. I also have a lead on a smoothbore trade rifle that a "friend of a friend" may have for cheap. Hopefully that pans out into something...

    Smoothbore barrel for GPR?

Does anyone make a smoothbore barrel for the Lyman GPR righthand flintlock? I would like to get one to play with, if available. Thank You

    New rod for GPH

Thanks all. I found a super rod at (of all places) my local blackpowder shop. I forgot all about them until I was driving by them on my way to lunch. $12 out the door.

    New rod for GPH

Well, I went out and shot my new GPH yesterday. Shoots good, but I messed up and put a dry patch down the barrel to clean the barrel after 6 shots. The rod got stuck, and I broke it. Any good rods to replace my stock one? It looks to be 33" long and 3/8" diam. Thank You

    Hello

Hello all. New BP shooter here. I have been shooting for years, but was finally bitten by the BP bug.

    New GPR Hunter use question.

Thank You. Mine has the two keys and is a 50. I may head up to The Gunworks in Eugene on Tuesday and see what he may have up there. I'm kind of leaning toward keeping this one and getting at least a 1 in 60 barrel for it. Maybe building a 20ga Fowler or NW trade rifle later. I may just play...

    New GPR Hunter use question.

Hello all, New to the site and somewhat new to the traditional side of the shooting sports I just picked up a GPR Hunter in trade. From myreading, I understand these are best used with conical and miniballs.I'm not really looking to use this for big game hunting yet, mainly predators, birds...
