    I've been experimenting with various KNO3 concentrations and Volatpluvia's advice of 6 tablespoons per quart seems close to the optimal mix. For my initial mixture, I saturated the water with saltpeter until it would no longer dissolve. That was probably close to 8 fl oz. I didn't weigh it...

    Sources for Matchlock wick?

    Seems like the more I get into blackpowder, the further back in time I go. I just recently got a matchlock from Loyalist Arms. I also got some of Dixie Gun Works matchlock fuse, but it's very narrow - they claim 3/16", but it seems more like 1/8", almost as narrow as cannon fuse. It will work...
