    browning

I've used plum brown heated with a hand torch for years. It always seems to work. Sometime you need to let it sit overnight. I just removed blueing from a kentucky flintlock pistol using a commercial solution and browned it. It only took 3 coats. Bill

Just bought my first flintlock. What do I need to take it out shooting, and what do I need to know to have a safe and enjoyable time.

Take your time. Flintlocks are not like modern rifles that you can pick up once a year and expect to be able to shoot 10X's. Plan on spending some time putting lead down range. A muzzle loading club shooting monthly is a good idea. Bill

WANTED All the lead seems to have disappeared :(

Try looking on eBay. There was plenty the last time I looked. Bill

    Woodsrunner range day

I've shot my Woodsrunner a few times and really enjoyed it. I'm a little too old and shaky to be very accurate, but that doesn't matter. I prefer the browned barrel and lock. Bill

When Do You Use Your Vent Pick?

I pick the vent just before each shot. I feel like I get faster ignition. Bill
