    Hunting in the rain

if you're not worried about being traditional try putting a layer of the wifes clear nail polish around the seam between cap and nipple. i usually do this and the only problem is once in a while i have to scrape the nipple off.

does a kukri have any place in muzzleloading?

sorry if my "shallow level of historic intrest" has offended you. i am new to muzzleloading and have never done any reenacting but i was intrested in it, untill someone called my question "absurd". i had what i thought was a legitmate question. thanks for positive input. it really helps a guy...

    Our other hobbies

not quite. just turned 25 and my other hobbies would have to include my 67 cougar, and bird hunting with my dog. i use a rem. 870 for that. i don't have a ml shot gun...yet. and spending time w/ my 4 month old daughter, Haley, which kinda trumps everything else.

    hawken 209 conversion

guys on the forum solved my ignition problems with this little gem. make sure you have the hammer at half cock when you load. this will let the air in the barrell escape through the nipple and will push powder into the touch hole. i started doing it and haven't had a misfire since.

    home made speed loader

i made a cylindrical 3 shot one in .75 for my father-in-law. i don't think it turned out too bad.

    home made speed loader

made another one today for the range. this one holds 10 shots. won't fit in a pocket though. actually it's not really practical. i think it's easier just to load one at a time. but the 3 shot one is good for hunting.

    home made speed loader

sorry i should have specified. the speed loader is for my hawken.

    home made speed loader

just wondering if anyone has ever tried this (i'm sure it's been done) or if it would be considered "authentic"? while cleaning my 51 navy i got an idea for a speed loader for my hawken. basicly all i did was make a 3 shot revolver cylinder w/ .50 cal holes all the way through out of a block...
