    Tradition Trapper Nipple

    I am amazed that I keep hearing this! It must be every Traditions gun sold seemingly that has this problem! I have a traditions Hawken and a Kentuckey pistol. Busted the nipples on both within just a few shots! I replaced the nipples and have really enjoyed the guns ever sense. :thumbsup:

    Mine was just last year. I was wondering through Sportsmans wherhouse and found a Traditions Kentucky Pistol kit.....brought out all that childhood emagination stuff and just had to have it.....I built it in about 2 weeks and have been hooked ever sense!

    This has a lot to do with personal preferance and you will get many answers. I used CCI standard caps with no issues at all.     If the loading is tight all the way down, I would start looking for a smaller ball. Find one that works with at least a .15 patch because I dont think you are going to get the same accuracy from the thinner patch. I have a traditions Ketuckey in .50 as well. My .490 balls load simi hard with...

    I only use a PRB so I cant help with the maxi. But I have been very happy with my 90 gr load of pyrodex in my .54 hawken. I use .18 patches for a nice tight fit with the ball. Best wishes
