    Gun Case for Flintlock

Does anyone know the name of the company that makes modern-type gun cases specifically for muzzleloaders? I think Roundball posted a link once...

    Flat Cleaning Jag for .62?

Does anyone know where I can get one (as opposed to the concave jags)?

    Best Touchhole Diameter?

What is the optimum diameter for consistent ignition without going too large (not that it matters, but I'm thinking .54 to .62 rifles)?

    Swiss 1.5 f vs Goex 2f

Roughly speaking, what amount of Swiss 1.5 f would be equivalent to 110 grains Goex 2f as far as pressure/velocity goes?

    Accuracy via Changing Powder Brand

Has anyone ever reached an accuracy plateau with Goex, then find that they improved their results with Swiss?

Badger Balm as a patch lube

Saw this stuff at Cracker Barrel, and looking at the ingredients figured it might work: beeswax, castor oil, olive oil, and some other things that did not appear detrimental. Lubed up some chamois patches and shot the .62 offhand at strung up clays. It worked just fine! Multiple shots between...

    My New Jeager

This is my new .62 built by Roger Sells. It has iron furniture, 31" Rice barrel, ebony nocecap, and silver wire inlays. Roger designed a screw-in vent pick that is just behing the trigger guard. I am really enjoying this rifle and hope to get into the woods with it soon. Since it will be...

    Swiss 1 1/2 f vs Goex 2f

My next stage of testing with the .62 may be to try Swiss 1 1/2f. Everyone says it's "hotter" than Goex, so what amount of Swiss 1 1/2 f would be roughly equivalent to 110 grains Goex 2f?

    Leather/Chamois Patching

Just had my best range day yet with the new .62 jeager built by Roger Sells (pics coming soon!). A big "THANK YOU" to Wes/Tex for suggesting chamois as a patching material. :patriot: Several problems were solved today using a wonder wad and chamois: Grouping real well now MUCH easier to load...

    Wonder Wads in a Rifle

20 gauge wonder wads were too small for my .62 Rice barrel, but 16 ga. wads seemed to fit "barely snug," but perform OK. Plan on trying 12 gauge wads in the .62 to see if an tighter fit tightens up the group even more. Does anyone use over-sized wonder wads for the caliber of their rifle?

    Whos Uses 3f in a .62 rifle?

I am working on a load for my new jeager and, although making some headway with 2f, tried 3f today; it seems promising. Will say ignition with 90 grains of 3f was wicked fast, and the report changed from a "Boom" to a sharp "CRACK"! Would appreciate hearing about anyone's accurate hunting loads...

loads for .62 Rice 31" swamped barrel

Does anyone have this particular barrel? It's the one they built for the Track of the Wolf jeager. If so, what loads have been found to give the best accuracy?

    Need Thicker Patching Material

My new .62 needs patching material a little thicker than the .018 and .020 pillow ticking patches I tried today. What kind of material could I find at the fabric store in the .022 - .024 range? Cotton drill, perhaps?

    "Push" Primer for 3f

My tresco-type priming dispenser works great with 4f, but 3f is too coarse for it. Does anyone know of a "push"-type primer that will dispense 3f? Night hunting for hogs sometimes requires priming by feel, and I know that by pushing down twice with the tresco-type dispenser, the correct amount...

    BBQ-size Hogs

Here's a picture of Jerry (Geraldo) with two eatin-size pigs we took back in August. It was quite an interesting hunt. We slipped into the woods along a hog trail that winded through thick hammock (oaks, pine, cabbage palm and palmettoes) about sundown. Jerry hand-motioned that something...

    Wild Boar with Muzzleloaders

Geraldo (of this Forum) and I took this hog about 30 minutes after dark Saturday a week ago. It came out into a small opening between a thick hammock and pine-palmettoes. We fired simultaneously; his .58 percussion loaded with prb and 110 gr 2f, my .54 flintlock with prb and 90 grains 2f...

    Roundball Caliber for Large Hogs

I know that getting a shot angled in from behind the shoulder is best on large hogs because the vitals are forward compared to a deer. However, due to less-than-perfect situations when hunting at night, this is my very specific question: What size caliber (roundball) would it take to break...

    Hardened Balls or Pure Lead?

Having a .62 built for hog hunting. For real large hogs, would pure soft lead balls provide adequate penetration or is hardening necessary?

    .72 Kodiak Express

How much does the .72 Kodiak weigh? Pedersoli's website says 12.5 lbs but several other dealer websites say 10.5 lbs. Can anyone give me their impression of recoil with round balls?
