    Ya everyone should definitely be cautious when loading and keep the powder sealed up, I'd like to see a more scientific test. side note if your going to loose a finger the piny is probably the one to loose. I had a accident and my middle finger on my right hand took a vacation one day at work...

    Have there been any real test done on powder horns when Ignited, I know things are done to try to prevent them from exploding. Seems I've Hurd some explode and some just pop into flames, guess it depends on how much power was in the horn. I believe there was a horn on the wall at Dixon's think...

    I'd have to think on it, it's not a perfect gun, some bluing spots are worn and forend is siloconed on to hold it. If a very fun gun more so now I know it shoots round balls good. Open to offers, maybe pm don't want to hijack the thread lol.

    OP I have a 15ga Hopkins and Allen under hammer I maybe talked out of. Note is about .677-.678 patterns get well and a light gun.

    Welcome, I'm from the Middletown area in Orange county. Some nice rifle but watch on here we only talk about traditional muzzleloaders even in-line muzzleloaders are not allowed.

    shot size for turkey

    I shot a turkey one year, up close maybe 10 yards. Just about took the head off. That Turkey took of like a rocket to the woods, I went after it and looked for 10 minutes. I finally found it in the hole of a blown over tree.

    I'd start at 60gr and work up, check the fired patches if you can find them if there not blown thru.
