My next build Jim Chambers PA Fowler

Thanks @PathfinderNC. I've enjoyed following your Pecatonica build. I tried to find that fella that made that Jig you have. Thats a great looking tool. Love to get one. Does he list it in the classifieds on the other forum?

My next build Jim Chambers PA Fowler

I worked on fitting the side plate today. I removed the cast sprue and cleaned up the edges of the brass. The rear point in the mortise was wider than the plate causing a gap. This was easily fixed by widening the metal with a hammer. My next task will be to disassemble the lock, drill the lock...

    SMR kit

I built a Kibler SMR. I loved the experience and learned a lot. They are fairly easy to build. You get a beautiful gun in a short amount of time. I have shot it at several matches and plan to hunt with it this year. This is my build post...

    collars in 1770's???

Agree with everything already mentioned about no Collars on waistcoats, frocks, coats. Capes were the thing. linen or cotton shirts, white or checked patterns. I have not seen an example of striped pillow ticking used for clothing so I would stay away from it. Collars were tied up with a...

My next build Jim Chambers PA Fowler

Drilled the Tang Bolt and tapped the Trigger Plate. The head on the tang bolt was too big in my opinion so I turned it down to make it smaller. My guide worked very well. I've been practicing some carving and engraving between working on the Fowler as plan to do a little on this piece. I spoke...

Can an individual topic be blocked?

I don't know if you can block it so it won't show up in the list but you can "unwatch" it if you originally responded but no longer want to get a notification when someone posts on it.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Not today but Saturday I cut poles for my wedge tent. I only staked four corners so it's just loosely staked in this photo. I cut the vertical polls a little tall so it will stretch tight when I set it up next weekend at the Fall NMLRA Nationals.
