    NO YEAST at the store....

You could make a low hop beer, after a week transfer to a secondary and then dry hop. Use the yeast from the primary fermentation to make bread. refrigerate the rest. It might be some time before yeast becomes available again. A lot of bread yeast is imported. or they are made at the epicenters...

    NO YEAST at the store....

Oh don't I know it, it's so sad. Many people today don't know what real food is supposed to taste like.

    NO YEAST at the store....

If making bread, you can stretch that flour some by adding a cooked potato to the mix.. The starch rich water from boiled potatoes can also be added. let it cool first, don't put it in boiling hot. Times like these my library full of old cook books comes in handy.

    NO YEAST at the store....

Surely a man in your profession has a good relationship with a local doughnut shop or bakery. They buy that stuff in bulk. Surely you could talk them out of a couple grams. ;) Btw, many breweries have a centrifuge for separating and recycling yeast. Another possible source. It would be like a...

    Non-toxic garden defense

I got one tonight, was eating supper and the wife looked out the window and said "is that a mole", Sure enough it was one digging, out the door I went with the shotgun and now he's in mole heaven. What's funny is, I was watching two Canadian geese 40 yards away while i was eating, the shot...

    NO YEAST at the store....

Make a beer starter first, split the batch and refrigerate half for the next use. I made waffles for supper, no yeast required.

Southern states were absolutely clear about why they left the union: Texas – “[A]ll white men are and of right ought to be entitled to equal civil and political rights; that the servitude of the African race, as existing in the states, is mutually beneficial to both bond and free and is...

That works for some, but won't kill others. I want them dead on the spot so they don't crawl under a woodpile or shed and stink up the place . Nothing worse than a dead critter in 90 degree heat.

    Lead melting stove

They are not for indoor use, Old Coleman's and similar units had lead and leather seals. They can wear out with age, easy to repair though. Mud dobbers, spiders and other insects love to make their homes in the air chambers, this reduces or blocks the air to fuel ratio making the units flare...

Sand doesn't work either, in case anyone had that idea. I've tried just about everything you can think of, got tired of messing around and settled on steel. I'm happy.

If i were shooting lead, at an ounce per shot that's one pound every 16 shots. I shoot over a 100 critters a year out of my garden, that's over 6 pounds of lead each year, multiply that over the years and it really adds up. Many vegetables are capable of up-taking lead in the soil. That's why I...

You're killing me buddy, I haven't laughed that hard since the last time we debunked this nonsense. You can go back and read the response, it's a waste of my time to retype it all. You must have read the book by the man who wrote about the use of a lie so "colossal" that no one would believe...

Steel will penetrate paper and most plastic wads that I have seen, I have just come to accept that steel shot is going to make my barrel look ugly on the inside. A nice Ed Rayl 4 bore might as well be an antique. I'd look for a cheap beater import gun or have a T/C bored out smooth and make it...
