    who all likes the carbines?

You’re right of course. What it does is make a small (perhaps a ladies or youths) rifle in appearance much like a Gibbs target or English Sporter. And the flat shotgun style butt would be more comfortable for ladies and youths as well.

If the cartridge version isn’t available in your area. I would see the attraction, as noted it’s well made. The example I had hit to the left with a Kaido 225 grain flat point and 25 grains swiss powder. if I’d kept it I’d have dovetailed a front sight in place of the original. It was accurate...

The Hawken barrels will fit as well, with a gap, the forend on the White Mountain is shorter than the Hawken.

I took an Uberti version of that gun in trade a couple of years ago. It’s a good shooter if y’all are set up with a press of some sort. I fired several cylinders full and sold it. the fit and finish was on a par with Uberti cartridge revolvers, which is to say, quite nice.

Cards instead of wads for revolvers

Yes, iv Made up several hundred so far and for volume shooters this is a very neat trick. I have a Pietta shooters model inbound and I’m gonna torture test wi the lube wafers.

Cards instead of wads for revolvers

Somebody suggested laying a sheet of paper towel in a pan and saturating with melted beeswax and olive oil. punch wads out of this and you have a nice little lube pill. I’ve used it and for extended shooting sessions it’s pretty effective at softening fouling without taking up a lot of space in...

who all uses peeps on their percussion guns.

Said a mouthful there Lee! Some days I wonder but generally getting old beats the alternative! Peeps are the best iron sights for young men and they keep old men in the game long past our prime...

We are a pretty small group of people relative to the big ol’ shooting world. We need to support each other when we get the chance.

There is such a law. Good luck getting it enforced in the workplace let alone in a private muzzleloading club... it doe give us old timers something else to gripe about.:cool:

most of time I use peep sights. I may have one rifle that doesn‘t have them. I haven’t done any night hunting for many years but even then, come to think of it, I used an aperture sight.
