    Couple of antelope!

Went out to the prairie last weekend with the ol' kibler. Checking some more boxes with this gun in its second season. WT, bear, elk, were all taken care of and the two tags I had were burning a hole in my pocket. Chased a group first thing opening morning. Wanted the buck, but waiting isn't...

    Bear down!

Thanks for the replies. Patacazador, luckily this bear was only 1/4 mile from camp. I was lucky and very pleased it was close enough for my dad to be involved. It also makes a guy feel foolish for walking 10+ miles every day and then to trip over one at camp, lol. Dad can't do that, but...

    Bear down!

Took the old man out with me (84) for a bear hunt. Rifle/general opened on Sunday. We got there Friday afternoon and I took the bow for a walk and knocked down a few grouse. Saturday I took a long walk 6 miles into a fun drainage and had a bull within 30 but it was too thick and quakey. Dad saw...

    .54 for Target?

Im not sure the barrel diameter. It is a swamped barrel which takes a little weight out of the equation. I’m not certain but at least the 50 and 54 I believe have the same outside specs. The bore just removes more metal for the 54. My dad has a 50 and you can feel the difference handling both...

    .54 for Target?

I am very glad with my .54 Woodsrunner. Its a hunting gun for me, but that said I think it would punch paper great. Mine does. The lighter gun because of the bigger bore is an added bonus. Deer and elk don't like it so much. Well balanced

SOLD REDUCED Hawken .54 cap lock kit

I'm in Missoula. Barrel has a 1:60 twist. I don't think I can go any lower in price. It's a sweet kit and has some of the headaches taken care of.

SOLD REDUCED Hawken .54 cap lock kit

It does not come with any instructions, thought the assembly process is similar to other muzzleloaders with pinning parts and fitting pieces. I did some of the big steps in machining the trigger assembly to the tang. I feel like the fit on the parts so far is pretty darn good. There is the...

SOLD REDUCED Hawken .54 cap lock kit

I have a .54 Hawken half stock cap lock I purchased as a kit. I have put a little bit of time into it, but honestly I put it down and don't want to pick it back up. Curious if this interests anyone here. It has a 1" barrel. Dovetail sights are cut. Breech plug and underlugs are installed...

    Kibler Fowler available.

Mr. Kibler. I noticed on another thread you hinted at the idea of jug choking your fowler possibly on another machine. Is this something you know you will do, or going to experiment with? Asking here because others may want to know as well. I'm hesitating ordering one because I would like to...

    Kibler Customer Service

I sent a lock to my uncle to engrave and he lost a screw. I emailed kibler and asked if i could get another one fully happy to pay for it. He said no worries and I received another screw promptly. Not only a fine gun, but amazing service from a fine USA manufacturer!

    .45 Caliber: Deer?

I say yes. Last year I shot 2 deer, 2 antelope, and a bear with my .45 cap with a PRB. They all came home with me and I never had problems in years previous as well. Shot placement is everything. The antelope were long shots at 75.

First new thread post (pic heavy)

Ya, I was lucky to have my uncle engrave some of the furniture. I might still send him the lock if he would be up for it. Its kind of a touchy subject, but he and my father had sort of a falling out that fortunately seems like they made amends. Both had a life full of hurdles like coming back...

First new thread post (pic heavy)

Hello all. Long time reader, first time poster. Like most here the passion of muzzleloaders has rooted itself deep. I glean lots of information here and so I thought I might contribute a little something. I have built and rebuilt and number of guns including muzzleloaders and though never...

    .45 cal deer loads

In all honesty, i went to 90gr of FFFG because of the bear. I rebuilt my gun and was ready to hunt, but hemmed and hawed last year because everything I read said a .45 was to light for bear. This year I bumped the charge up for good measure for bear and I haven't argued with the results. He...
