    How many years Muzzleloading experience?

I remember back in the 60’s, when I was a kid a couple original flinters at a flea market for $100. Lots of good stuff back then no one fully appreciated at the time.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

My “tacky” TCNew Englander. It’ll be on my lap in northern Wi in just over 2 weeks. I plan to flash a brass tack warning before I shoot.

    Buck vs Doe

This past summer my brother was driving down a highway going to work. A deer leapt across the rd and in mid-leap (as the air bag never went off) went thru the windshield. We weren’t sure he’d survive for over a month. Since then he’s recovered but with short term memory issues and all but 50%...

Best way to unload after an unsuccessful hunt?

If you’re confident you loaded correctly and no risk of moisture or oil issues, just take the cap off as said. I put a small piece of leather over the nipple and lay the hammer down on it. It’ll fire just fine if you’ve got your loading method down. I too make sure the muzzle is sealed with a...

    Weird Things

I like that idea of a conical for a second shot. I use a prb and that 2nd one can be hard to load, though I may use a thinner patch in my block also.

FOR SALE Euroarms 1861 Cook and Brothers. $800 plus shipping costs

I have that exact same rifle and sling. For hunters out there it’s very handy to carry or sling along. I knocked over a few deer with it too and they don’t go anywhere.

    Weird Things

I did similar but the fault was me. I missed a really big buck at 12’ with my trad bow. Shot right under it. I needed psych help after that and it still pains me to think I missed a gimme shot at the biggest buck of my life. But it happens and the buck never got wounded so all good!
