anyone having trouble getting on A.L.R.??

I've had what looked to be an Indonesian sex site come up for the last few days when pulling up ALR's site. I bookmarked Rich's tab that he supplied and seems I'm OK now. No doubt some cellar dweller was playing around.

    anti-gun USPS

USPS had been good for me so far except for managing to bend a 45" A wght. 40 cal. bbl. last time around. It was shipped in the usual heavy weight cardboard tube which showed the crush mark. I think most damage occurs at dist. centers not with the actual carrier. I got the hand wringing...

    Odd little smoothbore

After I'd thought about it it occurred to me that maybe the reason for an underhammer was so it could lay nearly flat under a seat pad etc. (?) There were no markings on it that I could see.

    Odd little smoothbore

'Sorry Gents, the pics didn't go up as planned (?) This little guy is an underhammer, approx. 24-20 ga., and has a unique rr thimble/s in that they're both part of one piece of rolled sheet steel soldered to the bbl.

    Odd little smoothbore

I stumbled across this recently at a strangers house and thought you all might enjoy it. The owners were calling it a carriage gun which sounds like it may not be far off.

UPS has outdone itself. I'm actually impressed by how massive of a failure this is, even Kiblers famous crates are no match! INSURE YOUR STUFF FOLKS!

That was no accident. That was deliberate. And as mentioned earlier never, ever, put FRAGILE on a package.

    Single set trigger

'Adding another 'maybe' here that you might check into. If your sear spring itself is too stiff the set trigger spring might not be able to overcome it to trip the lock. I had that situation with a Hollenbough single set and Kibler late Ketland and lightening the sear spring fixed the problem...

    Single set trigger

If you could get us a pic of that trigger someone here will know what it is. I think that'd be the first step in getting some insight on the problem.

Copper anti seize for my nipple and set screw plug.

I use it on b/plug threads now instead of Neverseez. It's been working just fine on '40 packard cyl. head studs for me for years now and they go into the water jacket. Think of it as a copper bearing version of neverseize, and we do after all, dump water down out barrels. Unless someone comes up...

    Single set trigger search

After Action Report: I did get the Hollenbaugh trigger from BB and have it installed. Having the instruction sheet was worth it's weight in gold as this trigger wants what it wants re: it's setup. So far (the rifle's not finished yet) it does what it's told to do with no deviation or...

whats your favorite part of muzzleloading, what keeps you hooked?

The sound. The rifle crack, smoothbore thump, musket volley's, cannon concussion, etc are my favorites.

New Work: Rifled English Fowler Stocked in Maple

Hello Dave, 'Love seeing things like this. I have a quite similar project in process ie: an English fowler w/rifled barrel. Although mine would be of colonial manf. not proper English made like yours. I'm relying heavily on those shown in Grinslade's book for design que's. Thanks for posting on...
