    Dilemma on sights

Some years back my eye doc said that I was getting Glaucoma. He sent me to a specialist who put new lenses in my eyes, They had some type of holes in them to relieve the pressure. I am now 80 and can see the sights.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really care for carving on a rifle stock?

I like to use my guns, and sometimes when out in the woods things happen. I have tripped, I have dropped it,and how mant have stood it up leaning against a tree? Plain stock is easier to patch and refinish.

    Training beagles...

Many years ago we had a beagle that would chase pheasants, her bark was different form chasing a rabbit. She would retrieve rabbits, birds, but she wanted to eat the squirrels. I had her up at my uncles place, and we were hunting near a fenced in reservoir. My cousin shot a pheasant that went...

    .36 vs. .44 "Stopping Power"

I remember an article by Phil Shoemaker where a client wounded a Brown bear. He sent the client back to the cabin with the Jr. guide and had the guide bring back ani-other guide. Any how they found the bear in the brush. The guide shot it with his 375 H & H magnum. his gun jammed, Phil shot the...

    Now I will clean it.

My first flinter was a Pedersoli Kentucky 50 cal. I used Lehigh Valley Lube exclusively. I shot it during the early muzzleloader season and put it away and forgot to clean it. About a month later I took it out for squirrels, when you could still use a 50 for squirrels, and it fired first time ...

I recently talked to a fellow who loves bear hunting. He said that a full body mount is about $5,000.

    Hollow points

I would rely on a semi-wadcutter. They penetrate and cause massive wound channels. Wide Flat Nose also perform admirably. Yoe don't have to worry about the hollow nose filling up with clothing.

    .36 Colt Navy that powerful??????

I have to laugh at those who belittle 36' 31, 25, & 22 firearms. The worst I have been shot with is a Daisy BB gun as a kid. At 80 yrs. old I still remember it. thank God it was a Daisy I wouldn't want to get shot with a real gun no matter the caliber. If Anyone remembers the LA bank robbery...

Some years ago I put some seed out on a stump behind the house. The wife works from home, and I figured that she could watch the birds feed on the seeds. Well a squirrel came in and was feeding on the seeds for a while when some turkeys came in the yard. The turkeys started for the seed patch...

I have fat fingers. My Uberti 1858 seems to crowd my middle finger. Any way to get a little more room between the back of the trigger guard and the grip?
