    This'll make you feel old!

Spikebuck. Actually I did see that one, think he was in Alaska or Canada. I forgot about that. For me it became a matter of if I can't believe what I know is fake how can I trust the rest.

    This'll make you feel old!

I'm not sure how to respond about that show without sounding bad or offensive. I'll just say the show had some integrity issues. I saw one episode where he was supposedly hunting deer with a muzzleloader and then showed him with an obvious cartridge rifle with what looked like some kind of...

    This'll make you feel old!

If I had known this thread was started here I wouldn't have started one on the Media section. Anyway, I liked it and it's good to see somebody trusting these types of guns for real in the hunting/shooting media. He also has a new flintlock elk video.

    Clay Hayes flintlock videos

A Clay Hayes YouTube flintlock mule deer video. I thought it was good. He's also got an elk one too that I haven't seen.

    Son got his first one

Luck and ability come together. Lucky the deer stayed and your son's ability to keep his composure.

    Boone and Crockett

Nice photo and bunny. I shot at a cottontail a long time ago and it just rolled down the embankment dead. When I checked there wasn't a mark on it but I could see where the ball hit the dirt right under it and the shock must have done it.

    Old guy camping

Not much to add that hasn't already been said. Awesome.

    Just a doe

No such thing as just a doe. They all deserve respect which you gave. Nice deer.

    Flintlock doe!

    Nice deer, rifle and accessories.

    My Idaho elk hunt

Damn man you had yourself an adventure and then some. The stuff that happened sounds like one those movies where everything seems to go wrong. You're a tough guy to stick with it and alone too. Glad you got an elk that's for sure. Great write up frustrations included. I saw an elk...

    Pedersoli Blue Ridge Rifle Buck

Nice. Good to see some ground hunting too.

    What's wrong with this doe?

She just looks "full figured" to me.

    Got lucky in northern Michigan

Congratulations on a nice deer. As flat as that ball is it's not surprising to me it stayed in.

What is the deal with the fouling ring

Just post a question on how to deal with tobacco fouling.

    First Flintlock Buck

Congratulations. Nice gun, deer and photo composition.

What is the deal with the fouling ring

Thanks. I posted back in May that I used green Scotch Brite and it fixed the ring issue. Still cuts the patch on the first shot only but shoots ok and I'll just keep shooting until that goes away too. Thanks Mike. Yeah I hear you. I guess we all want something we think will work better. Some...

I forgot to pack the roundballs - but the substitute worked

I'm saying it's a story because I know the yellow ones won't work.

    Buck vs Doe

Here in Colorado most all deer licenses are by draw only meaning the wildlife people have determined what kill ratio is acceptable. If doe licenses are available I'm thinking they determined it's ok to hunt them and I will if that's what I want to do that year.

    Full stock Hawken

Nice job although I'm with The Crisco Kid on the bolster and cleanout screw. The leman looks great so far. Looking forward to seeing that.

Hunting loads for my .58 black powder rifle

Instead of doing that why not do the right thing and work on getting to around 100 yds. give or take a little. Getting closer is what it's all about and the rest of us that hunt open country try to figure out how to do it. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't.
