    Remember TG&Y?

We had a TG&Y here in the early 80's. It had the best sporting goods department you'll ever see in a dept. store. They some had top end brands, not just cheap stuff. If Bill Dance fished with it, they had it. Bought my first Daiwa Magforce there. They had all the cool retro boxes of Peters...

SOLD - Pending funds Thompson Center Renegade barrel

What is the muzzle diameter? 15/16"? And could you use it to directly replace a .50 cal. Renegade barrel?

    .45 caliber buck this morning

Cool! Nice buck. May I ask details of the shot? I'm curious because I'm switching to my .45 T/C Cherokee for deer. I always like to hear how a deer reacted to a roundball because I'd rather use them (even though I had a bad experience once).

    Sight movement

Paint the threads with clear nail polish. Worst case, coat the screws with blue Loctite. I reread your post. If it is a front sight dovetail, it should be tight. The only idea I have is to stake it in place with a punch.

    How do you eat them

You must cook them with salt. I like a little Texas Pete on mine. This is one of the best films I've ever seen https://www.folkstreams.net/films/its-grits

    Squirrel hide shot pouch

Please tell us what you do to the hide to keep hair from falling out. I know nothing about tanning but would like to learn.

    Pronghorn down

Congrats! Since it's a muzzleloader, it would be nice to know where you hit it, how far it ran, and how long was the shot?

Who Hunts Reg Seasons With Their Muzzleloader?

I always hunt in our muzzleloader season with my caplock. We used to have a "Primitive season" ages ago in SC. That meant muzzleloaders and bow and arrow. Now, bow hunters start first on Sept. 15th and ruin it for us. We have to start Oct. 1st. I really want another muzzleloader season near the...

    Rust protection.

Ross Seyfried was one of my favorite gun writers. He once wrote an article about all natural lubes on muzzleloaders. His advice was to never let petroleum products near it. I've been using T/C bore butter for 30yrs., inside and out. I've never had any rust. I've left it loaded all year many...

Any SxS trap shooters out there?

Pattern your gun on a small dot at 13 yds. It should be at least a tad high. Dead-on or low won't work for trap.

    FFg in a .45

Thanks. Since we're on this subject, I wonder what would the safe limits be on each burning rate if you were limited in a survival situation? Could you use FFFFg in tiny charges in many calibers? Or Fg in the other direction? Just curious if it's ever been tested to see what is a safe limit.

    FFg in a .45

Is it ok to use FFg black in a .45 caplock? I have plenty and don't want to pay shipping on a new order. Anyone tried it? I always shot FFg in my .50cal.

To Bounce or not to Bounce

It's always kinda nice to know the range to the target you shot. I have no idea why people leave that part out.
