    Davy Crockett King Frontier

I still have an original Davy Crockett pistol and holster. Plus my Davy Crockett glass. I drank milk from it every morning. It now sets ina place of reverence in the curio cabinet. I was at Friendship when the craze hit with my dad. We camped out the entire week. It was awesome. The sound of...

Was Dutch right about wiping between shots?

Here is the bottom line with me. I wipe between shots. It helps me to shoot longer and helps accuracy. I believe that wiping between shots allow more even pressure shot to shot. I will even do a mini cleaning sometimes if I decide to shoot longer. Whatever some may do is up to them. I know...

    Gun range lead concerns

The position of being there first is a good argument to bring. The same has worked for large farms also. Courts have said that the “new “ neighbors should have done their due diligence. That does not mean they won’t make you spend money. I’d get in tough with your state organization ...

How long does 1’000 caps last for an average shooter

Most people, at least in my experience, pop a cap before loading to clear the channel and maybe dry up any moisture that might be there. Who can answer your question? You know what you use each time you shoot. Personally I would have more than a thousand but that’s me. Minimum of a thousand...

    Dark Finish on standard maple

Not sure if it has been mentioned but years ago a plug of tobacco in a jar of ammonia. Let it dissolve and Then apply. The longer it sets the more dissolved it becomes. Try on a scrap first to see how it works. I’ve also used leather stain of British Tan to get a red hue. But most recently...

    NMLRA membership increase

I’m a life member and have been for many years. Mostly to avoid the increasing expense of annual memberships. But more to support the organization and the sport. I also became a 1 of 1000 member a few years ago for the same reason. I owe something to future generations. Organizations such as...
