    WANTED WANTED SHORT BARRELED

There was a guy on here that had a .54 or .58 rifle that he had cut down by someone reputable. I am having a brain fart and I can't find the conversation I had with him. If you see this I'd like to see the pics again if you still have it

    Wilson 1821 lock

When I bought this smoothbore, it was suggested (not claimed) that it was a Curly Gostomski firearm. There is no other markings on the internal side of the lock other than the stamped W. No markings of any kind on the barrel. The barrel does measure .691 making it, I believe a 14 GA.

    Wilson 1821 lock

I have a lock with WILSON 1821 stamped behind the cock, a sitting fox encircled stamped just below and slightly to the left of the pan and internally the only stamp is a W just left of the mainspring bend. Would anyone have any info or a source where I could look?

I wasn't really talking about the lack of people at the Convention I was more talking about the dwindling participants in the sports. Although I am sure there are plenty of BP shooters that do not belong to the CSMLA

    Colorado State Muzzle Loading Association.

Attended the CSMLA 2024 Winter convention yesterday. Good event. Lots of good people that I shoot with were there. Listened to a couple of classes. Bought a great mountain man shirt. Only thing is, the convention got a whole lot smaller in the 20 years I have attended. Muzzleloading is the...

    Sportsman's warehouse

I know guys that work all the gun counters in my area. Large chain stores and small shops. I make the rounds a couple of times a week. Some of the **** I hear from their customers while standing at the counter makes me cringe. There are a whole bunch of asstards out there that maybe shouldn't be...

    Dried meat

There are salt licks in the east, Caintucky and such. And I believe there are accounts of men boiling down large kettles of salt at those licks. But there is the Great Salt Lake in Utah. I need to research that.

    Dried meat

Mountain men and natives dried meat for transport and storage. I am guessing not the same as jerky. I experimented with some beef. One batch I salted, lots of salt and air dried the meat. Turned out dried and salty, crumbles rather than bends. Been drying for weeks open container, smell and...

    Cabela's chaps my hide.

All the big box sporting stores all operate the same. They all want big profits selling cheap foreign made products. They all want you to believe they expound customer service when in reality they really don't give rats ass. They can operate inefficiently because of straight volume sales of the...
