    A Quick GOEX Update

Read it in an article last year, IIRC. I'll try to find it.

    A Quick GOEX Update

The Gov / military has to 'Buy American' and that is why they invested heavily in getting Goex back up and running. Getting Goex back up has the second order effects of securing an uninterrupted, IF they do not blow up again, supply of black powder for the various military / munitions...

    A Quick GOEX Update

FYI, there is a limit, IF you try to purchase over 25lbs. The site will not let you put more than 25lbs in your cart.

    Wad Lube Recipe

Currently in Texas, El Paso specifically so basically two seasons .... hot as hell and cold. As for a wad lube and 'components', I currently have 5lbs of beeswax, olive oil, and about 10lbs of Mutton Tallow in the freezer. I gathered all that up to make up some patch lube for my plains rifle...

No. 11 Caps on a Musket

Springer, thanks for the heads up. While I have Grafs bookmarked, they did not pop up in a search for musket caps for sale in a search. I'll put an order in for some today.

No. 11 Caps on a Musket

Almost pulled the trigger on the purchase of a Pedersoli 1841 Mississippi Rifle Friday. While doing some research I discovered that the 8 tins of CCI Musket percussion caps I bought are apparently garbage for actually slinging lead, more for noise making. I searched the web and could not find...

    Woods Walk Course Design

Find or set up a log at approximately 15 yards and take a battery operated drill and drill some holes spaced out in a line where you and either insert some wooden dowels or some sticks you wittle down (cheaper) and stick in the holes. On the sticks you can insert some old potatoes, apples, or...

Thinking of a flintlock rifle project, asking for opinions as to feasibility and practicality

First off, I do not have the skills and more importantly the tools and with a pending move (post-divorce) will hold off on purchasing tools until after the move, so I will have a gunsmith do the barrel work for me. Basically, looking at purchasing an Investarms Gemmer Plains Rifle Flintlock...

    Got #11 caps?

Okie Hog, I used the sight but got a message of "No product was found for the SKU you entered." Is there another SKU or did you accidently type the wrong number / transpose it incorrectly? I do that with numbers at times myself.

Anyone else experience this problem with an Uberti 1858 Army? Help requested ...

I have a new in box 1858 Uberti that I purchased from Midway back in February. Unfortunately, it has sat in be box since receiving it due to ... you guessed it, the supply shortages. Decided to pull the 1858 out and leather working tools and leather to finally start on the holster, belt, and...

Baker rifle by Persersoli. Any news?

Yeah, but Pedersoli will probably use the same cheap-assed 1:48 twist that they ruin every other rifle that should have a 'true' PRB / slow twist barrel .....

What if any difference? Dixie vs. Pedersoli ...

maillemmaker, So, the enfield paper cartridge is not allowed in the N-SSA matches? If not, that is quite odd as there were millions, if not tens-of-millions of those cartridges fired during the War of Northern Aggression. Thank you for the info about being able to shoot lubed Minnes over...

What if any difference? Dixie vs. Pedersoli ...

Stantheman86, the Mississippi is still in their catalog, as of 2022. Hopefully they do not drop it as it is a really sharp looking rifle. Also, as to your rifle ... Do you lube your Minne bullets? If so, how may rounds are you able to shoot before you have to swap / wipe the bore? Have...

What if any difference? Dixie vs. Pedersoli ...

1841 Mississippi. Odd, I just checked the site and both are now the same price, though the Dixie (Pedersoli) is a .54 and Pedersoli is a .58. Eventually looking to pick up two to play with ... one to add the front and rear sights as used on the Zouave to research and use .54 Burton/Minne...

What if any difference? Dixie vs. Pedersoli ...

I have been looking for a certain rifle for a while now (availability) and Dixie Gun Works seems to be about the only option. While they do have a Pedersoli in the model I want (just different caliber), there is also a Dixie model, made by Pedersoli, also available. The only difference that...

    1841 Mississippi questions, (Pedersoli)

Apples and Oranges ..... with Apples being PRB rifling vs. Oranges being rifling more suited for lead bullets of the Minie/Burton or Prichartt type. The rifling depth, around .010 +/-, on Hawken type rifles (Apples) is different than the depth of the musket 'type' rifling, which are around...

    1841 Mississippi questions, (Pedersoli)

And THIS is what I want and what I'm talking about. I have a .50 caliber GPR that I bought while deployed in 2012 and I do love it. I have really become enamored with the 1841 Mississippi and I am interested in that rifle as a PBR rifle, as it was manufactured ORIGINALLY, which was with a PBR...

    1841 Mississippi questions, (Pedersoli)

The difference, as I understand it, is the depth of the rifling. Marshall's is .005 depth. I bet your Renegade is .010 or .012 in depth.
