Ducks and geese in Saskatchewan with the Robins 10 ga. Fowler I'm building..
Snow shoe rabbits -in a deep dark tamarack swamp with the 40 cal.
Elk..bull or cow with the 62 flinter.
Whitetail deer from a canoe and 54 cal flinter.
To do more than scare the grouse in Northern Wisconsin!(no swatting)12 ga. flinter( Spence we need to talk!)
Sand-hill crane with the 12 ga. flinter.
Coyote called in with the 36 cal.
If it wasnt for ground swatting grouse I still would not know what they taste like.

Having just retired, my 'bucket list' is to just keep right on getting out after deer/squirrel/turkey right here for several more years.
A satisfying hunting trip is a good crisp morning & sunrise in the beautiful fall woods of North Carolina, shooting a good deer, dropping it off whole to a needy family, and being home sleeping in my own house for the night...LOL

Alot to be said for that too my friend!Every day on the right side of the grass when you are able to do the things you love to do is a true blessing!!

WOW lots of people sharing my dreams here! I live in Mn so ive shot large heavy horned northern bucks, big black bears, and grouse with my 'loaders! Reason i bought my Pedersoli 10ga double gun was to take a stab at a black powder "Grand Slam"! Its 3/4 done already as far as planning but i need to tune the gun in! Shot elk before, but will go back again  Been getting NH moose pts, and will go eventually!

Colorado has more then enough elk, Idaho(my pick) Montana, Wyoming. All along the Rockies there are good bulls, even a few back east. So which ever state fits your budget, you cannot go wrong with a .54.

As for my list, number one the great American bison, in the states, pure blood and free range. Like to go back in time and fix the wrong we did in the early days. I believe more bison would make us a better America. I live in Idaho so I have most of the other minor animals in great supply.

Thats funny, i want to fly fish alaska......says the man with a 450 acre farm in ny and a guest bedroom

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Check off the Snowshoe hunt.. Had a blast!.waist deep snow in the swamp..more predator tracks than rabbit tacks...it's that way across N. Wisconsin this winter...Spring arrived yesterday in all it's glory!

1 down 6 to go!

My goal for deer season next year is to shoot 3 whitetail does. 2 for my family and 1 for charity. Missouri has several good programs for donating to needy folks. .54 percussion.

I want to shoot a small feral hog in Missouri. Not looking for tusks, just a meat hog for the family.

I'd like to go pheasent hunting in Nebraska with a double barrel fowler.

I'd like to buy/build a small, light .36 rifle for rabbit hunting and take my son with me. He'd get a kick out helping Dad 'fill the freezer'

Done all the elk hunting I care to do. Used to live in Colorado. Did that with centerfire rifles. I've never been a horn hunter, so I only shot cows. I never did take to the taste of elk meat, so I stopped killing them. The last one I shot was processed and then donated to a homeless shelter in Denver.

I'm working on my "bucket list."
I just posted about a trophy moose hunt that my buddy & I booked for October 2013.

I have already taken lots of whitetails, one black bear, a Quebec/Labrador caribou & a bobcat with flintlocks.

Next, after the moose hunt, I'd like to go after elk & mule deer. I already went on an antelope hunt a long time ago, but it was a centerfire hunt so I wouldn't mind taking another one with a flintlock. There's a lot more on the list, but I'm afraid that age & money will limit the experiences.

Bucket list ? Strange that you asked. My oldest daughter asked me the same thing yesterday.
I told her that I have all my hunting trips planned for this year. Even bought me a new trailer to stay in. (Get these ol' bones into something more co,mfortable at night.)
between now and first hunting season (Squrriel in May) I will take all my guns and gear, and go to Wally World. Sit down in the Sport Dept. and swapp huntings stories with other ol' farts.

#1 A buck and a doe from Anticosti Island with my 50 cal Bucks County flinter

#2 A spring Vermont Tom, with a 20ga Northwest Trade Gun that I'm building this year. Ordering the stock soon!!!

3# A Maine black bear with my 50cal flinter

The crazy item for the list:
I'd like to get all 5 American species of turkey, and the 2 in Mexico with that same 20ga NWTrade gun :youcrazy:

WH.50, When it happens it will be better than you ever expected...my son Jake started coming to deer camp when he was four and has been shooting, trapping and hunting ever since...when he turned 12 we scraped together enough $ and went to Anicosta Island for our first Canadian hunt together....a trip I will never forget
