Dovetail size??

If I recall, 3/8 inch is too large and mine is .360 (cva MT Rifle.)
I seem to recall Dixie gun works detailing this in their catalog, hence the .360 I mentioned.

I have seen several sights listed in catalogs as well with the same designation

Sounds about like the Lyman dovetail. And that's good. Better than it being bigger.

Smaller means you can file the dovetail on almost any sight and make it fit. And it's quick and easy.
