Since I know nothing of this craft, I have a question about the 'permanancy' of a flattened horn.
Do they have any characteristic of gradually wanting to expand back out towards their larger size.....similar to a "metal memory" kind of thing?

Or once flattened, they hold that new shape permanently?
 
RB, they'll hold forever, I have the first flat horn that I made 11 years ago, still the same as the day it was made
 
I seriously have to bow to the workmanship I see in these posts, yours as well. My attempts look pretty amateurish by comparison.
 
The pictures don't do it justice. I'm holding it in my hand now and the craftsmanship is outstanding. You wouldn't think a plain horn could look so good.
