I was wondering if anyone here has a source for Remington Black powder "Capguards"?

I still have fifty left, bought about 10-12 years ago, they are little plastic gems that fit over your nipples, especially good for BP percussion revolvers.

They keep the cap in place even after firing.

I have looked every where I can think that I might have bought them with no luck. :idunno:

I'd sure like to buy a bunch more if anyone has a source.

Thanks,

Dale

If that doesn't work out for you my local guy has a couple of packets of them.
I have no idea what he's asking though he is usually list+ on most things.

I get mine at "The Gun Works Muzzleloading Emporium" located in Oregon. Go to their website and click on shooting aids, then click on hunting aids, then click on nipple protection.

I see these every time I visit my local guy, but never knew what the purpose for them was exactly.
Can they be slipped over a nipple for dry-firing practice?
How do they stop the cap being blown off, I never did understand that part?

They work because the soft plastic ring causes compression of the cap to the nipple. Thring itself compresses against the nipple. The cap is kept on the nipple and kept from exploding outward. For dry fire try the little soft rubber caps they use for plugging vacumun lines.

You can use them several times before they will cut thru!
