Bought a little 20 gauge flint double shotgun from J.T. Phillips in 1990. I've taken 3 javelinas in Southern Arizona and a few doves, squirrels and rabbits in Kentucky with it, but haven't shot it for 15+ years. I'm going to remedy that this week if the squirrels will cooperate.

Cochran locks, 32" tapered 20 ga. barrels, don't know who made those. The "hook" breeches are a bit unusual, they are simple circular studs instead of actual hooks.

I understand Phillips only made a dozen or so of these guns, and I've never run into anyone else who shoots one.

Spence,
Don't lose your barrel key in the field, okay?

Not sure I take your point... ? In reference to the unusual hook breech?

Good looking gun ! Do you have a pic of side of barrel where lock bolster butts against?

Hi Spence,

I once tried to look Mr. Phillips up when I was visiting my parents a few years ago - they lived 20 miles or so from Beebe.

No luck :( but he sure built a beautiful double.

:hatsoff:
