With the season open I will be heading out in the morning and was wondering who else hunts squirrels in Ks with muzzle loaders.

Didnt know Kansas HAD squirles... You's dont have any trees so Im guessing you are hunting dirt squirles?

:hatsoff: :hatsoff:

In the eastern part of the state we have some trees. Enough to get some grey and fox squirrels. Now if you go too far west it is a different story.

Welcome to the Forum steve and good luck hunting those limb chickens.
And to our brothers out in the Pacific north west, there are plenty of trees in the NE portion of Kansas. I have a couple of cottonwood trees out back that might even qualify as a "tree" in Orygon
And we have plenty of fat fox squirrels in the trees too.

I hunted turkeys in Kansas this past spring and man did I ever see a zillion squirrels! If it wasn't so far, I'd be there w/you!
Wess

I had a barking tree rat scolding me this morning as he was sizing up the black walnut harvest this morning. Haven't been out yet but sounds like fun for my .54 GPR. it barks with a bite. NE Kansas has lots of trees and tree rats.

my son keeps asking me to take him squirrel hunting, once we get our first cold snap I think I'll take him out. I have many fond memories of hunting squirrels as a kid in VA.
