I've got an 1860 Colt replica and a bunch of leather and I am thinking of sewing a holster. Anyone know of sources for patterns? Free would be preffered but I don't begrudge sellers charging a fair price either.

I like the military style with the flap but I could easily add a flap to a pattern - I want to make sure the holster fits the gun.

Thanks

If I were you I'd send Bubba45 a pt. He's got some patterns he makes some sweet holsters out of. I believe hes got a 1860 pattern.

There are plenty of patterns out there for the 1860 Colt. The trick is finding the one that you like the most.

Personally, I like the California Slim Jim for the cap & ball revolvers.

"How to make holsters" by Al Stohlman is a good start. It's more of a how-to guide and overview and has patterns as well.

Will Ghormley's patterns though are top notch.

Both holster makers are well regarded within the Cowboy Action community. Hope this helps
