TC barrels...

Kits kave the letter K in front of the S/N;

1:48" standard barrels are 5 and 6 digit sets of S/Ns numbers;

1:66" round ball barrels have 4 digit S/Ns;

I have 9 TC 1:66" RB barrels, different calibers, some cap, some flint:
2 = 4xxx
4 = 5xxx
4 = 6xxx
1 = 7xxx

All were bought brand new starting in 1990.

Is this serialization based on just your collection of barrels or from a long list you've been able to compile?

Does it apply to Hawken barrels only?

Does it also apply to Renegade barrels?

Renegade standard barrels were 26" and their RB barrels were 30", right?

Thanks.

The only "K" on the kit gun I built, was in the barrel channel, and that was an ink stamp.
Barrel was 5 digits. No barrel stamps with a K anywhere.

If there is a K means its a Kit barrel.
The lack of a K doesn't meant it wasn't a Kit barrel.

In the early decades, T/C's Kits contained barrels in the white and they carried the K in the S/N.

T/C's Kits in later years contained regular finished barrels, with regular S/Ns...no K.

I was puzzled when I just saw this post dated today because I had already answered your PM a couple days ago...just went up there to cut and paste it and see that its not there.

I have no list...and T/C says they lost all their records in the big '97 plant fire.

Per discussions with T/C, there are different blocks of S/N's associated with various models...Hawkens, Renegades, New Englanders, etc, etc.

Standard Renegade rifled barrels are 27" & RB barrels 30". There was a .56cal smoothbore barrel for the Renegade that was 26".

roundball,

Well, the main thing I was trying to get clarified by you wasn't yet. The 4-digit, 5-digit and 6-digit serial number assignments you referred to in that post implies that they apply to all TC barrels. True, or are they just based on your collection of (Hawken?) barrels?

27" didn't sound right BTW, so I dug out some old TC catalogs... Renegade 1:48 barrels are 26".

Thanks

The barrel itself is 26", add 1" for the breech plug/hook = 27". I say this with barrel in hand.

As I understand your question. All 1 in 48 standard barrels have large digit s/n's 352xxx, 253xxx etc.

All RB Barrels have only four digets to the S/N. My new RB barrel has a S/N of 6xxx.

Yeah and a 30" barrel measures 31" with BP, etc. The point is that TC sold,advertised the Renegade barrels as being 26" barrels (not 27").

I suggest that you contact T/C Customer Service.

Why, TC customer service won't have a clue what you meant to imply by your post - only you would.
