This weekend Im going out to make fire and toss masses of lead with my long land..If I can lure the woman to come along and act as my photographer Ill show you guys the glory of the Loyalist arms Bess in action.

Well its saturday, and what do I have to do??

I have to go into the office as the Toronto transit comission decided to strike at the last minute 12 am last night leaving up to 1.5 million commuters stuck in the core of the city...Looks like no fun for me at least until infantry school next weekend, lots of pictures will be taken there of the sturdy Loyalist and mvt muskets blazing I am shure...

In the present time heres me last summer shooting my Indian made blunderbess, went through a lb of ffg in 3 days and piles of balls of many different sizes in the Nova Scotian bush and it kept shooting LOOOONG after the "high quality" italian musket showed its flaws.

Wish us luck in Toronto if this strike continues for long the city is going to errode even more then normal.

Nice Pic Bess!
You got to getcher self outta that "Cityfied" Torontonian Hellhole and make yerself a life in the Best province in Canada. Course I'm Biased....Ifn' you ever decide to make your move..Contact me man and I'll set you up with a great place to shoot BP and it's only 30 minutes drive from your neck of the woods.
Good thing that strike didn't last too long or it might have become a nasty place to be.
Signed.....Never Been to Toronto Halftail!

Hi half tail!!
This city is rotten to the core.
Dont ever come, theres nothing here except Mayor Millers socialist utopia...Well that and crime and over priced housing. :(

I will be moving..But looks like it may take me another 1.5 years to save up some cash so the Wife /Baby and I dont have to live completely poor.

Might have to move to Halifax first, as the wife refuses to live in a tent while I build us a house. But that said Halifax isnt that bad compared to this place.

Really I can't wait..I dream about it EVERY day!!
I will happily quit my management position here to have a minimum wage position there.

Cheers

for those interested, I just read this on another list.

"For the record, the musket that blew up was not, I repeat, was not a
Loyalist arms musket.

Jim McGaughey
HM Marines
Rock Ford event coordinator"

Rock Ford was the event where the India musket blew up. So that eliminates one of the three dealers who sell these muskets

Hello All

To get to the bottom of this "Bess explosion"
Somebody may need to get the guys from "Unsolved History" to solve the mystery?

Cheers,Rob

There was never any doubt in my mind

So, am I correct to assume it was a MVT or a MilitaryHeritage "gun"?

Or am I missing another 'dealer' / gun source who gets there guns made in India?

These are then only three that I am aware of.

Loyalist
Middlesex Village Trading
Military Heritage/Discrimanting General

So, if you eliminate Loyalist, that leaves just the other two. Maybe someday the people involved will be kind enough to let us all know which one it was. I really don't understand what they are waiting for. It's not going to change so why not disclose it.

Don R

The problem is, it gets more complicated. I can think of three more off the top of my head, and there are probably more.

I've always found the lack of important details in the burst barrel case to be odd, to say the least. We never heard where the musket was purchased, and no follow-up investigation or anything. The whole point of the story seems to be that Indian muskets will blow up with blank rounds loaded by experienced reenactors.

tmdreb,

I was not aware of any other importers than the three I listed. I know that Middlesex and Loyalist have reps in various parts of the country.

According to another list, the investigation is still ongoing. This incident took place last October, so it has been ongoing for 6 months. Seems suficient time.
