I finally had time to shoot some pics of my gear
A T/C Hawken with a G/M .54 cal 32" drop in.
A .54 mountain that my late brother built around 1978
and then my bag, horn, and ballbag

54,

Do you ever run into a skinner by the name of Terry Mannell that lives over by Catherine?

I love to see other peoples kit. Thanks 54mountain.
Colonial hunter, that flinty in your pic looks like a real beauty. Is it a custom flinty  Sure is a nice maple handle axe as well to compliment that flinty.

The handle on the axe is some of the scrap from the rifle stock. The Rifle was made by M. A. Meese of Burr Oak Michigan. Very happy with it. I forged the Belt Axe from a piece of Wrought Iron I found on my aunt's farm and forged welded in a bit of file for a good cutting edge.
Thanks,
Jeff

54mountain,
Great looking stuff! Bet you will treasure that .54 mountain for a long time. I know I would.

That rifle is the only thing I have of my brothers and it will be in the family for a long time.
At first I was reluctant to use it because of the sentimental value but then decided that my brother built it to shoot and would hate to see it hanging on the wall.
Now I use it more than the Hawkin. The old Douglas barrel is a tack driver.
