Put Uberti 1848 upside down in hot water, really hot, near boiling. Cleaning after going to range. About 1/3 of grip was submerged about 20 minutes. Now the portion submerged is all milky white.
Did I ruin the finish?

Ya. I told wife i will give it a couple days to see if it dries out before i panic and order new.
Next time the grips will come off first.
I have a new set of grips for the small frame Colt replica you can have if you want.

Why does everyone call the Colt grip, grips? It is a one piece grip.

It like saying I washed my cars…when you only have one.
Same reason people say they wearing a pair of underwear or pants. Makes no sense. but there it is.

If we quit using our nonsensical speech patterns, all conversation would stop.

You might as well ask why flour and flower are two different things.

Its all a mish mash of historical hand down from mixing of languages and cultures.

I tired to get off the QWERTY key board and onto (Devorac?) and could not do it. Too many years of QWERTY burned into my brain. Or as I told the School Marm, I am up to 38 errors a minute!
