¿Dumb question about Kibler flintlocks and WTS listings on this site?

Understand the appeal of a flintlock from Jim Kibler. It is #2 on my lust list right under a @Rob M. trade gun.
But why are there so many completed kits listed for sale?
Heck, I intend for the great grand kids to be fighting over that old grumpy so&so's favOrite flintlock rifle.
Any insight on why so many are listed for sale?

...to raise funds to buy another kit!

That's what I SHOULD do but can't part with the Colonial OR the Woodsrunner.

Unless the coming fowler just cannot be resisted and das fed pillages my savings, which is typical every April.

Mine's not for sale nor ever will be so I can't offer any insight* on your generalized assertion.

for some the making of the thing is the thrill. lots of satisfaction in showing someone a just completed long gun and having them gush about how beautiful it is! then they start feeling it is last weeks glory and sell it to buy another kit to add to their trophies.
i know men that do the same with women!

Actually, on the first three pages of hits for a search on "Kibler" in the classified ads forum, there were 11 "wanted" ads for Kiblers and 10 "for sale" ads, so I'd say the supply and demand is pretty well balanced and that your questions about so many people wanting to sell Kibler guns are misplaced and/or based on skewed perceptions of the listings.

Kibler is an awsome long rifle, BUT if your hankering for a trade gun...........Better see Rob M. Decisions, decisions, decisions!!!
This hobby can really be tough sometimes!

I bought and built a Colonial out of curiosity on the quality that was claimed. It is everything that all the reviews had said! Then the Woods Runner came out and was to my reading even better. So I had to see and ordered one after selling the Colonial to finance the project. It is in fact remarkable in every respect. This one will probable stay.

I bought a Kibler Colonial that Mike Brooks dolled up. It was a nice well balanced .58 cal., but someone wanted it more than I did. Then the Woodsrunner came out and I ordered one to see how easy they were to assemble. Mostly a metal polishing exercise. I wasn't trying to make money so I sold it at cost. They are my pick for handy carrying. Some folks like to shoot and not assemble. Some folks like to make a little money for the assembly. It evens out. I don't believe there is any big money to be made. They are too easy to assemble.

Wait till the fowler comes out…

I've put three together for people an made some money doing it. Their so easy to put together an fun. The extra money helps to buy trade gun parts. Which are my favourites to build...

If there are a lot of completed kits for sale, it is a reflection of how many are sold.

I'm just hoping someone built a 40 cal SMR and wants to have money to build the fowler. HA HA

Buy kit -> Build -> Admire -> Sell rifle -> repeat is the process I think many follow. It's a lot of fun putting them together and the retired old timers get to stay busy and mentally stimulated.

It does seem more have popped up for sale in the last few weeks built. Or I am noticing it more.

It must be tax return time. The market is abuzz and maybe a good time to get a deal or save that return for a fowler.

That's good, keeps the mind sharp.

I sold my Kibler .40 SMR for a couple reasons.
Mainly because I just wasn’t using it. The thrill for me is in the build. I tend to build a rifle, shoot it almost exclusively till the next build is done, then it sits while I shoot the new one. Once I built another .40 from a plank, the Kibler was redundant.
Don’t get me wrong, the Kibler was a beautiful rifle that went together fantastic, I just decided to pass it on to someone who would use it.
