One the bolster is inlet , make sure the plate is positioned so you can get a front bolt through the web and ahead of the mainspring ... Then trace the plate and start in letting the plate ... Take an undersize drill bit and run it through the holes in the plate , marking positions of the various parts .... Trace said parts then inlet the parts .

First thing I do when inletting the guts of the lock is to find the trigger position on the bottom then get an undersize drill bit and tape the depth from inside lock mortice to just past the trigger position . Then drill with a large size for sear movement . Then main spring ....then rest .... Blacken inside of lock and start checking for things that inhibit the movements of the lock ...you'll have to notch above the lock where the cock is so the lock will start setting in the mortice , and round off near the tang too a bit .

Mark the thickness of the lock and bolster , like on lock side , then mark it on sideplate mortice side ... Make sure to mark beginning and end of mortices too .... Then , mark a line along barrel full length up to mortice line you just made .... Then slab all that off with the saw ...she's gettin slimmer and lighter finally !

Lots of edges were up there , dont want to knock a chip out by accident .... Just kinda cleaned it up a bit but not to final ....
