Word of caution, bobcat is disgusting (at least if you eat it raw) the racoon tasted like pork cooked in apples
My all time favorite is badger salted and roasted over a fire, it has a flavor all it's own, and it is a good one.

Agreed. As a younger man, when we couldn't gig any, we could get them from the Dandy Inn on Fridays. Good eats, great memories.

Didn't kill but recently ate some alligator. Very white and tender but completely tasteless. Won't say never again but not motivated to try again.
 
I am not a hunter, but from family and friends: Mountain lion, buffalo, elk, deer, moose, Pronghorn antelope, rattlesnake, rabbit, frog, Paddle fish, sage hen, bear, Big Horn sheep. Favorite recipe for deer: Put 1 cup flour and 1 tsp cinnamon in a bag. Cube up meat and drop in bag. Shake well. Fry up in hot grease. Yum!

Seaman, a Newfoundland Dog, was a member of the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was the only animal to complete the entire three-year trip. Seaman was purchased in 1803 specifically for the expedition by Captain Meriwether Lewis.

"Lewis seems to have been happiest when he was alone on shore with his gun, his notebook, and his dog Seaman."

Lewis and Clark's Corp of Discovery ate over 200 dogs, bought from the Indians, while traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail, in addition to their horses, but Seaman was spared.

My wife and I have had Newfoundlands the entire 33 years of our marriage, 5 at the most at the same time. We just lost our last one, Maggie, today. Gonna have to start locking the doors to the house at night now, without her standing over-watch for us.
