Not liking the hex nut flash hole liner that came on the barrel, i installed a white lightning.. I'll try it out today! 1st photo after draw filing, 2nd photo after drilling with #52 drill bit and a little coning, & touch up blueing.... the hole size came at suggestion from Larry Pletcher (The guy that did all the flash hole time testing) , i did "cone" a bit more than he does. Good Job and excellent barrel choice ! How well does it line up with the pan center /center sunset?
 
i bought this rifle because of the barrel on it,, which had not been fired.. i probably still would only have cap locks otherwise,,, now i want another!
Yeah, they are habit forming for sure! Once you get one set up right you will hardly be able to tell any difference in ignition time between percussion and flint.
I've had percussion guns hang or slow fire on occasion over the years as well so it's not just flint guns that do it.
