We've got one similar, Bee, she's a rescue. Apparently the owner had to go into a Nursing Home and the only Daughter worked 12 hours a day so poor old Bee had to go, but now she's a happy bunny (dog!)

My Rose is a bear dog. We go bear hunting every morning. We never see one, but we go hunting for them anyway. I don’t know what we’d do if we ever saw one!

My Airedales were bear dogs. First time they ever saw one they stopped and had that look, "Lets think about this a minute." I did get to shoot several bears....with my camera. My bear dog...
May sound unmanly but my Heart still aches for my Dogs that have gone before me. Especially the one in my Avatar Photo. He was one Special Dog. When they look at you and tell you I do not want to go..but they must is thee toughest part.
There is nothing unmanly about missing a beloved dog. I have had to say goodbye to 7 of them over the years. Each one was the best ever, in their own way.

Amen to that my friend! We just had to put down my Springer of 13 1/2 years in Nov. last year. Still hurts like crazy!
I can remember and miss every dog that ever owned me since I was a kid in the 50's.
Been through it with cats, dogs and horses....never gets any easier. Had one old horse 24 years.

Married nearly 40 years. We have had dogs, Labradors, all that time. I remember each one of them and the memories can bring tears. Chloe is 12 years old and just starting to slow down a little. I am 76 and wonder what to do when she passes. Maybe a rescue.
The more I know dogs, the less I like people.
Definitely get a rescue. All 8 of mine have been rescues. I wouldn't have taken a million dollars for any of them.
