I bought this flinter for $125, I took it apart, sent pics of Lock internal to L&R, they came back and said it looks like a T/C lock ? took the flash hole liner out it is 1/4-28, same as Thompson center. The make is Ultra Hi for miroku, 50 caliber. does anyone have any documentation, or info on this particular model ie: Era, twist etc.. any info or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. it shoots very well, Thanks for the help BC

Yep,
Ultra-Hi was working with Miroku back in the 1970's. So that barrel is about 50+ years old....

The lock is a TC lock..., the coil spring is a "give away", but the single trigger and the trigger guard that shape (can't tell if the guard was modified) are not normally found on the TC..., so is it a TC lock on an Ultra-hi rifle, OR is it an Ultra-Hi barrel that was retrofitted to a TC rifle?

The BIG question is, how good is the bore ?

Part of my Junior year in high school, about 1972, I lived in Colorado Springs and I was already dreaming about owning a Thompson Center Hawken. There was a Target store, some sold guns back then, that had one of these Japanese made T/C Hawken look alike rifles. I can't recall the price but I've got it in my head it was a few bucks less than the T/C. My minimum wage job at McDonald's didn't pay enough or that gun might have been my first muzzleloader rather than the T/C model that would be my first a couple years later. I've run across a couple of hard copies of the Japanese gun over the years but mostly I've found them in posts like this. I'm glad I ended up with Thompson Center but it would have been interesting to find how they compared side by side.
