This rifle was built, for my wife, by Bob Watts in the mid-1970s. It is scaled to fit the ladies. .40 cal., 48" overall length, 11 1/2" pull. Weighs a little over 6 lbs. Wood is some of the prettiest striped maple you will ever see. Finish is exceptional, absolutely beautiful. Lock is a Davis 'Siler style' percussion, set triggers, Douglas barrel. My wife was an avid ml'er but lost interest just about the time this rifle was delivered. It has less than 100 rounds, maybe half that, shot through it. Bore smooth and fine, rifle has been in safe all these years except for periodic cleaning and lubing. Included with rifle is an extra, and extra long, hickory range/ramrod and a Lee double cavity .395" mould. Even though she no longer shot she called this rifle her "treasure". It is beautiful, quality and destined to be a family heirloom for who ever gets it. $1600.00 shipped and insured. I ship to U.S. only. Personal checks or postal money orders accepted.

Edit: barrel is straight 13/16" across flats. Light and handles beautifully.

Edit: FWIW, the last rifle I had built I paid about $1,500.00 just for the parts and it was only a plain maple stock. The high grade curly maple like this rifle would have cost, at least, $400.00 more.

SOLD pending receipt of funds.

For the younger ones on here who may not know. Bob Watts is legendary, he passes several years ago, is one of the gunsmiths featured in Foxfire V...I met him in the late '70s when he had a shop and store in Stone Mt, GA...Bought my first flintlock from him, it is the one in my hand in my aviator..Exceptional rifle at a fair price...

I can go $1100.00 if you want. This will be for 4-H kids who shoot here on my range so it’ll be going to a good home.
