Location
Over here, in North East Michigan.
Picked this up from Eflay about eight years ago. Got a it for a good price. Sellers note said, GM, unfired, 62cal, 32x1" excellent rifling.
It shows up looking like brand new, then I looked down the bore. There's no rifling, it's a smoothbore. I wrote the seller to ask if he sent
the wrong one. No it's the only one I had in 62. You don't want it, send it back. A couple days later I decided to keep it.
It has all the regular markings but no caliber stamp. The bore is a 62cal- 20ga. Have seven other GM barrels all stamped. See them on
line, all stamped. This one must come out on a Friday and everyone was getting out of Dodge. I replaced the rear sight with blind screws
and a shorty upfront like a shotgun.

I just picked one of these up. It is marked though. My intent was to use it on a Renegade stock but found a complete Hawken stock that should be here today. Hopefully intact. Out of curiosity what does the bore on yours measure?

The bore is .611". I have a couple of 1" Hawken stocks it'll fit but I like the single trigger on this Renegade stock.

I recall reading years ago about a modern Colt handgun some guy bought new, and it was totally un-rifled. Don't know what the outcome was, but probably was replaced by the factory. Anyone else recall that story?

Hmm. Mine is a tight one then. It measures .607. Shotgun wads are super tight so may have to scrounge another punch or alternate loading materials for shot loads. On the upside the RB I shoot loose out of my .58 should work nicely with a patch.
