So we drove up to SC to visit our son and grandkids over the weekend and decided to swing by a Cabela’s store on Sunday and was delighted to find they had what I wanted to get for a while that has been out of stock at

Midway. It’s was actually like 30 bucks cheaper here. Just got wiping the grease off this Pietta Sheriff .44 Remington. Fit and finish is gorgeous. Very impressed how well the wood to metal frame fit is and the action is super smooth. Can’t wait to try it out tomorrow.

Those are some nice balanced revolvers, congrats on the new addition to the family!
I know where there's two of them, one blue, one stainless. Maybe I need to talk to the guy, see what kind of package deal he'll give me....

I was just looking in the showcase at one of those at Cabela's priced at $319. I guess I will see if they still have it tomorrow. I had just bought a new gun or I would have bought it then. Yours looks very good. We probably won't see them ever get any cheaper than that.

I'm buying everything I want now, because everything I wanted "some day " is out of production now and costs 3x as much

I have wanted a LeMat for probably 20 years and I think Pietta stopped making them

That's a good find, I always liked the shorter barrel 1858's

I bought one in .36 caliber some years back when prices were still easy on the wallet ;).

I got mine from Cabellas a while back. On the 20th shot the retainer on the bottom of the barrel broke off. Research showed this is a common issue with the Piettas. When I called Cabellas they said mine was the 2nd one for that store the same week. The other guy only got 5 shots. They did me right and exchanged it (with the option of a refund). I got it home and loaded the heaviest load I dared (30gr 3f/45 cal lubed wad/ 200gr Lee REAL) and shot the manure out of it! This one seems to be good!

Love shooting the thing! My kids are saying I need to get another I want to they can tote that on in the woods. Lol!

I recall getting these in the 1970's @ $133. But adjusted for inflation, it's probably about the same plus I wasn't making much money back then!
In 1973 right after high school selling shoes at a dept store I got paid $1.86 an hour + 8% commission after selling $1,000. With that money I paid my college tuition, gas and car insurance and had some to spare. Times have changed..

I recently bought one from cabelas also and it has been near perfect so far except for the pietta nipples/#11 cap issue. Changed to slikshots and now I love shooting it. Fit and finish is great also imo…
